Your responsibilities will include assisting in surgeries, managing pre-operative and post-operative patient care, and collaborating closely with physicians to ensure optimal outcomes. Responsibilities Assist in surgical procedures within the cardiothoracic surgery department Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative care for patients Collaborate with surgeons and medical staff to develop treatment plans Monitor patient progress and address any complications Educate patients and families on treatment options and post-operative care Document patient information accurately in medical records Participate in surgical rounds and team meetings Stay current with advancements in cardiothoracic surgery practices Requirements Associate degree or higher in Physician Assistant studies Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) Experience in a surgical or cardiothoracic setting preferred Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment Commitment to continuous professional development Knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols Schedule: Monday-Friday, 4x10's or 5x8's Census: 30 Must have first and second assist experience in the OR Must have post-cardiac surgery recovery care experience in an ICU setting Board-certification required Paid travel & expenses
