JOB SUMMARY:

We are recruiting an experienced Locum Registrar in Psychiatry (ST3–ST8) to provide high-quality, patient-centred psychiatric care within the NHS. This long-term agency locum position offers the opportunity to work in one of several psychiatry subspecialties, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and contributing to the delivery of safe and effective mental health services.
The role is ideal for doctors with proven psychiatry experience at middle-grade level who can commit to a consistent rota and integrate effectively into an NHS mental health service.

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, formulate diagnoses, and develop management plans.
• Manage a defined caseload of patients in inpatient, community, or liaison settings.
• Lead and participate in daily ward rounds, MDT (multidisciplinary team) meetings, and case discussions.
• Provide clinical supervision to junior medical staff (Foundation Year and Core Trainees).
• Participate in on-call rota duties (if required) for urgent and out-of-hours psychiatric care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with GMC and NHS Trust standards.
• Contribute to audits, service development, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Liaise with patients’ families, carers, GPs, and other relevant agencies.
