JOB DESCRIPTION – LOCUM SHO (ST1–ST2)

Location: NHS Trust (various sites)
Contract: Locum – Full time / Part time
Start date: ASAP

SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Locum Senior House Officer (SHO) – equivalent to ST1–ST2 level to join our medical team. The post involves providing high-quality clinical care across a range of specialties within the NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be expected to work within multidisciplinary teams, support patient management, and contribute to safe and effective service delivery.

• Provide clinical care to inpatients and outpatients under consultant supervision.
• Clerk, assess, and manage patients in acute and ward settings.
• Participate in the on-call rota, including nights and weekends.
• Assist in emergency resuscitation and acute clinical situations.
• Liaise effectively with senior colleagues, nursing staff, and allied health professionals.
• Participate in ward rounds, MDT meetings, and clinical handovers.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in medical records.
• Adhere to all NHS Trust policies, protocols, and patient safety standards.
