JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Locum Specialty Grade Doctor in Ophthalmology to join our dynamic team at [Hospital Name]. This role involves supporting consultant-led ophthalmic services, particularly within the Pre-Assessment Clinic (PAC), Post-Operative Clinic (POC), and YAG/Posterior Capsulotomy (PAG) clinics.
The post-holder will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred ophthalmic care within a modern, well-equipped private hospital environment.

• Availability for flexible working hours, including weekend clinics if required.

CLINICAL DUTIES:

• Conduct comprehensive ophthalmic assessments in the Pre-Assessment Clinic (PAC) to evaluate patients prior to cataract and other ophthalmic surgeries.
• Manage follow-up reviews and clinical evaluations in the Post-Operative Clinic (POC), identifying complications and escalating cases when necessary.
• Perform YAG laser capsulotomy procedures in the YAG/PAG clinic, ensuring safe and effective treatment of posterior capsule opacification.
• Support outpatient clinics in general ophthalmology and subspecialty areas as needed.
• Interpret diagnostic imaging and test results (e.g., OCT, visual fields, biometry).
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with hospital policies.
• Liaise with consultants, nursing teams, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care.
• Adhere to clinical governance, patient safety, and infection control standards.
