JOB SUMMARY:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Locum Specialty Registrar in Psychiatry to support NHS Trust services across the UK. This role offers flexible working arrangements and opportunities to work within a range of psychiatry sub-specialties. The successful candidate will be responsible for the clinical management of patients with psychiatric conditions under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Minimum of 3 years’ postgraduate medical experience, including psychiatry
  • Experience at ST4–ST6 level or equivalent
  • Section 12 approval and/or MRCPsych (desirable but not always required)
  • Valid Right to Work in the UK
  • Current DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments of patients
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team (MDT)
  • Participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings, and handovers
  • Manage acute psychiatric presentations and ongoing care needs
  • Support junior medical staff and provide clinical leadership as required
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Contribute to risk assessments and safeguarding processes
  • Participate in on-call rotas (if applicable)
