JOB OVERVIEW:

The Locum Specialty Registrar (SPR) – ST3 to ST8 role offers experienced doctors the opportunity to work across various specialties within NHS Trust Name. This role is suitable for doctors who have completed their core training and are looking to gain further experience at the middle-grade level. This is an agency locum post and candidate must be flexible to travel also.
The post-holder will be responsible for managing patients under the supervision of consultants, participating in on-call duties, and contributing to teaching and audits within the department. This is an excellent opportunity to develop clinical skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent).
  • Full General Medical Council (GMC) Registration with a Licence to Practise.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (Visa sponsorship available for eligible candidates).
  • At least 3 years of postgraduate clinical experience (equivalent to ST3 level or above).
  • Completion of Foundation Training (FY1 & FY2) or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in the chosen specialty at ST3-ST8 level.
  • Competency in acute and emergency care, including CPR and deteriorating patient management.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Postgraduate qualifications (e.g., MRCP, MRCS, MRCEM, FRCA, MRCOG, etc.).
  • Experience working within the NHS.
  • Teaching, research, or leadership experience.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or equivalent.
  • Audit and quality improvement project involvement.
Responsibilities

CLINICAL DUTIES:

  • Provide high-quality patient care under consultant supervision.
  • Conduct assessments, investigations, and treatment plans.
  • Manage acutely unwell patients, including in emergency and on-call settings.
