The Baillie Group's Smyrna, NY sawmill is hiring for a hardwood log scaler / equipment operator. This is a great opportunity for an individual with prior scaling and/or log grading experience and experience operating heavy equipment. This person would be identifying log type, grade and scaling logs, as well as operating equipment. This is a full-time opportunity working for a world class hardwood lumber manufacturer. Hardwood Log Scaler/Equipment Operator Responsibilities: Identify log types Grade and scale logs Operate heavy equipment and other equipment as needed Work safely and help maintain a safe work environment Hardwood Log Scaler/Equipment Operator Qualifications: Minimum of one (1) year experience scaling logs Heavy equipment operation experience - specifically front end loader Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a focus on safety and quality Hardwood Log Scaler/Equipment Operator Pay & Benefits: Anticipated Minimum - Anticipated Maximum Pay - $18 - $23/hour* First Shift Full Plan of Benefits About Us The Baillie Group is one of North America's largest hardwood lumber manufacturers, distributors and exporters.
