QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a wood products or related industrial environment.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
A solid understanding of safety regulations and a proactive approach to hazard prevention.
Experience managing unionized teams and working within collective agreements.
Ability to coach, mentor, and support team members through change and challenge.
Technical aptitude and familiarity with maintenance planning systems are considered assets.
Workplace Safety & Health
As a front-line supervisor, this role is responsible for:
Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and hazard controls
Coaching staff in safe work procedures and equipment use
Participating in investigations, inspections, and incident response
Promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
Supervise and schedule employees including Truck Offload Operators, Diehl Loader Operators, Diehl Operators, and Industrial Mechanics.
Lead safe work practices in alignment with Workplace Safety & Health regulations.
Monitor and optimize chip production, fibre use, machine performance, and labour deployment.
Plan and coordinate log yard maintenance and Diehl Processor operations, including preventative and emergency maintenance.
Serve as a communication link between frontline operations, contractors, maintenance, and management.
Provide coverage during planned and unplanned absences and participate in an on-call rotation.
Prepare production summaries, manage performance, and promote operational excellence.
