Description
The International Trade Analyst supports Vertiv’s Global Supply Chain and Commercial Operations by managing import and export shipments via ocean, air, and ground transportation. Ensures compliance with trade regulations, accurate and timely shipment documentation, and effective coordination with freight forwarders, suppliers, and internal teams. Maintains visibility of shipments in Vertiv Web or other platforms, providing updates on estimated and actual departure and arrival dates, customs clearance, HS codes, and other relevant information to internal stakeholders. Supports cost control and ensures operational efficiency while adhering to company policies and global procedures.    Responsibilities:  Please list at least 5 duties/accountabilities.     1. Backlog Ownership and Order Management: Manage an assigned portfolio of purchase orders from creation through production confirmation, ensuring accurate visibility of manufacturing timelines and alignment with regional demand requirements.  1. Production Follow-up and Factory Coordination: Maintain daily communication with global Vertiv factories and contract manufacturers to monitor production status, validate committed dates, and ensure timely acknowledgment of all open orders.  1. Manage International Shipments: Coordinate import and export activities, including ocean, air, and ground shipments, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with Vertiv’s global policies and regional trade regulations.  1. Trade Compliance and Documentation: Prepare, review, and validate shipping documentation (BLs, AWBs, invoices, packing lists, certificates, customs filings) to ensure compliance with local and international trade laws.  1. Freight Forwarder and Supplier Coordination: Act as a main point of contact for suppliers and freight forwarders, assisting with booking shipments, confirming schedules, and resolving operational issues.  1. Cost Control and Reporting: Support monitoring of freight costs, customs duties, and taxes; assist in validating invoices and preparing reports to help optimize supply chain operations.  1. Escalation Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders (procurement, operations, logistics) to manage trade-related issues and exceptions, ensuring continuity of operations.  1. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance trade and logistics processes, follow best practices, and support the development of standardized procedures and SOPs.  1. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with regional business units, procurement, warehouse teams, and commercial operations to ensure alignment of international trade activities with overall business objectives.  1. Shipment Tracking and System Updates: Maintain accurate shipment information in Vertiv Web or other logistics platforms, including estimated/actual departure and arrival dates, customs clearance, HS codes, and other relevant details or comments. Ensure visibility for all internal stakeholders, supporting timely and precise decision-making.  1. KPI Reporting: Support the preparation and presentation of monthly KPIs related to supplier performance, trade execution, and logistics operations. Ensure data accuracy and contribute to actionable insights for internal teams and management.    Education & Certifications:  Please note minimum and preferred requirements for education.  This includes degree, specializations and certifications.      * Bachelor’s degree in international business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.  * Understanding of import/export regulations, trade compliance, and basic logistics operations.    Requirements:  Please list all experience required to perform this job.  You may note some requirements as preferred.   Work Authorization No calls or agencies please.
