Description

Ethier Sand & Gravel Limited is looking for hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Logistics and Dispatch Coordinator – Northern Ontario. This is a full-time permanent position located in the Greater Sudbury Ontario area. This position is available with competitive wages, a company pension plan, and a benefits package. This position reports directly to the Vice-President.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS PROFILE:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in construction, mining, or transportation is required.
  • Valid G Class driver’s license is required.
  • Dispatch experience in logistics, with a specialized focus on construction materials, is considered an asset.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • A fast and productive approach on the phones – ability to handle high call volumes, coordinate drivers, and resolve issues swiftly.
  • A proactive, organized professional who excels at multitasking and keeping all moving parts in sync.
  • An excellent communicator who ensures every call contributes to efficient load management and seamless customer service.
  • Strong integrity, sound business judgment, and the ability to demonstrate initiative.
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment (co-workers, suppliers, etc.).
  • Well organized and systematic.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a cheerful outlook and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers.
Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of the commercial fleet and material movement logistics, which include:

  • Managing incoming and outgoing freight by utilizing transportation management systems and ensuring accurate data entry.
  • Communicating effectively with clients and carriers via multi-line phone systems.
  • Analyzing shipping schedules and logistics to optimize supply chain operations.
  • Managing remote scale software for materials
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure timely and efficient material deliveries, optimizing haul routes.
  • Working in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures, and/or regulations, including both wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Work schedule includes evening and weekends with availability to answer after-hour calls when required.
  • Performing related duties as assigned by Vice-President and Construction Managers
