The Production and Logistics planner is responsible for coordinating daily production & logistics activities, ensuring that goals are met while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

Production planning:

  • Developing Production Schedules: Creating detailed production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, and inventory levels.
  • Determining Resource Requirements: Estimating the amount of raw materials, equipment, and labour needed for production.
  • Prioritizing Production: Managing the flow of work to optimize efficiency and minimize delays.
  • Coordinating Production Operations: Ensuring all resources are available and allocated to meet production schedules.
  • Adjusting Schedules: Adapting production plans to address changes in demand or unforeseen issues
  • Monitoring Production Processes: Tracking progress against schedules and identifying potential bottlenecks.
  • Troubleshooting Production Issues: Identifying and resolving problems that disrupt the production flow.
  • Optimizing Production Processes: Finding ways to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Monitoring Material Supplies: Ensuring timely procurement of raw materials and managing inventory levels
  • Preparing Performance Reports: Compiling data on production performance and sharing it with management.
  • Communicating with Stakeholders: Keeping relevant departments informed of production plans and any changes.
  • Documenting Production Information: Maintaining records of production schedules, material usage, and other relevant data
  • Working with Various Departments: Collaborating with sales, purchasing, quality control, and other teams.
  • Liaising with Suppliers: Coordinating with external vendors for material procurement and delivery.
  • Interacting with Management: Keeping management informed of production status and issues

Logistics planning:

  • Developing and Implementing Logistics Plans
  • Coordinating Transportation: scheduling shipments, routing packages, and troubleshooting any issues to ensure smooth and timely delivery.
  • Proven experience in a production or manufacturing & logistics environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make decisions.
  • Knowledge of production & logistics processes and equipment.
  • Understanding of quality control and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS:

  • Maintain accurate records of production.
  • Prepare and participate in production reports.
  • Manage inventory and materials.
