Position: Logistics and Purchasing Assistant
Location: Office based role in Newtown, Mid Wales

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a dedicated Logistics and Purchasing Assistant to join Cambrian Packaging. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing transportation for goods in and out, ensuring timely and complete receipt of all purchase orders (POs).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in transport planning or logistics is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Initiative: Proactive in addressing issues and managing tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Transport Coordination: Organize and manage logistics for incoming and outgoing goods, to minimize costs and meet customer expectations.
  • PO Management: Ensure all purchase orders are acknowledged correctly, and received on time and in full, addressing any discrepancies with suppliers promptly.
  • Supplier Liaison: Communicate effectively with suppliers and carriers to resolve any issues related to deliveries.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate transport documentation, including delivery notes and customs documents.
  • Reporting: Analyse transportation metrics and prepare reports on efficiency, costs, and delivery performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within the transport planning function and implement best practices.
  • Relationship Building: Foster positive relationships with suppliers and internal teams to facilitate smooth procurement processes.
