OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the logistics and stores operations, ensuring efficient processes in shipping, receiving, and inventory management. This position requires strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in logistics or warehouse environments is preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of good practice relating to Health and Safety Regulations and Road Traffic Regulations. Good knowledge of the Highway Code. Basic understanding to notice faults and damage to vehicles.
  • Forklift certification is desirable but not mandatory; training may be provided for the right candidate.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Create customer delivery note and pallet labels for outbound goods
  • Responsible for ordering and de-hiring all external equipment
  • Book deliveries with relevant depots in line with delivery schedule
  • Ensuring finished goods are picked for depots and loaded onto appropriate vehicles.
  • Recording goods outwards using appropriate paperwork of IT systems.
  • Update computer system to enable accurate stock levels.
  • Assist with stock checks when required. Keep stores clean and tidy.
  • To ensure the safe loading and unloading of materials onto vehicles and assisting colleagues where necessary.
  • Help maintain warehouse management systems to ensure correct EDI outload flow.
  • Assist with peak outloads to both external warehouses and direct to customers.
  • Carry out daily stock checks on goods leaving the warehouse.
