Description Forward-thinking, problem-solving team member who takes initiative to maintain excellent customer service to our growing customer base. This person is responsible for coordinating logistics for our import team. This includes, but is not limited to, the purchase order entry of goods from our Australian team as well as any other suppliers, assuring on time ship dates from vendors and tracking the shipments to arrival onto US soil, thus leading into USDA inspection, clearance, and transportation to our customers. This team member will serve the role of coordinator alongside a growing team who is doubling our business in the coming years. A great attention to detail is necessary to assure on time delivery and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities & duties Supporting sales staff with various tasks as assigned Assure order accuracy and timeliness by following up with suppliers, vendors, and customers. Tracking shipments to assure on time arrivals as well as avoidance of fees. Filing all necessary import paperwork (ISF, TRQ) in advance of order arrival. Order entry, update, and closure into multiple softwares Build & Maintain relationships with Australia, vendors, and customers Analyze and make improvements in processes to assure efficiency within the workplace Main point of contact for inbound orders & documentation Urgently completing orders to assure on time inventory reflected for sales team Problem-solving when shipping or receiving problems arise, obtaining necessary information from warehouses, carriers, receivers. Cross-training with team members to assist with additional tasks as needed Requirements Protein Import knowledge Basic warehousing knowledge Order entry & updating Release processing Inbound & Outbound scheduling & planning Copy documents Invoicing Demurrage & Detention tracking Customer service Microsoft office suite proficient Emphasis in Microsoft Excel Ability to communicate effectively via email and telephone Shipment issue resolution Inventory control LTL & FTL knowledge Reefer shipment & storage knowledge International logistics operations Other duties as assigned
Responsibilities
Coordinate import logistics by managing purchase orders, tracking shipments from Australia and other vendors, and ensuring timely USDA clearance. Serve as the main point of contact for inbound orders while maintaining relationships with suppliers and customers.
