Description
Supporting and assisting the plant with all incoming and outgoing shipments, foreign and domestic.    Duties and Responsibilities:   * Responsible for supply chain management duties including selecting carriers, researching shipping methods.  * Works independently with minimal supervision, exercising discretion, sound judgement, and professionalism in all tasks. * Leads the daily operation of incoming and outgoing freight. * Assist & monitors transportation budgets to keep cost at or below plan. * Selects carriers by researching ideal shipping techniques, routing, and carriers.  * Facilitate operating cost reductions and develop/implement other programs to support company objectives. * Plans and monitors inbound and outgoing deliveries. * Works with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations. * Updates and evaluates metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements. * Ensures all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements.  * Assists associates within the Materials, Shipping and Receiving Departments on special assignments as required. * Close coordination with various Department Managers and Supervisors as required. * May be required to perform miscellaneous related duties and special projects as assigned. * Assist in preparing shipments.   Qualifications:   * Trainable; willingness to learn. * Must demonstrate a strong attention to detail. * Must have excellent organizational skills. * Outstanding analytical, problem solving, and organizational abilities.   Education and/or Experience:   * A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role. * Experience with Microsoft Office software. * Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. * Forklift experience a plus     Travel Requirements:   * None   Physical Requirements: * Essential physical requirements, such as climbing stairs, standing, stooping, or typing.
