Responsibilities

The Logistics Coordinator Aircraft Material Purchasing is responsible for the purchase and provision of aircraft parts, tools, materials and services for the maintenance of cargo aircraft of the DHL fleet (EAT LEJ, DHL UK & Aerologic) in Leipzig & East Midlands Airport and its C-Check organisations.

  • Purchasing of aircraft parts, tools, materials and services for the maintenance of cargo aircraft (Line Maintenance, C-Checks, Engineering Requests for MOD, AD, SB, CN or Engineering Instructions) for EAT LEJ and DHL Operators managed by EAT LEJ
  • Worldwide market enquiry and purchasing from known and new suppliers
  • Negotiations & selection of ‘best buy’ with suppliers (based on cost, quality, technical requirements, delivery time and reliability of suppliers)
  • Managing the re-procurement of consumables on the basis of defined logistics parameters
  • Monitoring deliveries until the goods are successfully received
  • Identification and clarification of supplier problems on the basis of a supplier evaluation system (ORD, U/S on fit etc.) and active order tracking (delivery performance)
  • Processing/support of strategic purchasing topics & projects, including
  • Conclusion of framework agreements
  • Inventory management
  • Process optimisation
  • Support and processing of all administrative tasks in connection with the delivery of parts, materials and services
  • Close co-operation with other departments within and outside EAT LEJ necessary (e.g. parts suppliers and manufacturers, repair shops, freight forwarders, DG certification centres, DHL Air in EMA (UK), other airlines, outstation, maintenance facilities…)
  • Collaboration on cross-divisional projects
