Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our growing team. This role is essential in managing both international and domestic logistics operations, ensuring shipments move smoothly while maintaining compliance with trade laws and optimizing supply chain efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in shipping or logistics, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate international and domestic shipments, including shipping, receiving, and distribution activities.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import/export laws, and trade documentation.
- Prepare and review commercial invoices, HS codes, and shipping documents.
- Communicate with customs brokers, carriers, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor shipment status, resolve delays, and provide tracking updates to internal teams.
- Audit freight and brokerage invoices (e.g., UPS, FedEx) for accuracy.
- Manage inventory control, supporting accurate data collection for effective stock management.
- Utilize transportation management systems and WMS/ERP platforms to optimize operations and reduce costs.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance supply chain and logistics efficiency.
- Support the Logistics/Office Manager with daily operational tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Some experience in logistics, shipping, or customs preferred; willing to train the right candidate with foundational knowledge.
- Familiarity with customs processes, HS codes, and international trade regulations.
- Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); data analysis tools (SQL, Tableau) are a plus.
- Knowledge of warehouse management, freight handling, or 3PL operations is an asset.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Mechanical knowledge or forklift certification is a plus.
