David Carrière & Associates (DCA) is a Canadian supplier in the food and beverage industries looking to add a Logistics Coordinator to our team. This role will handle all the imports shipments to both Canada and the United States. A strong candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, and a desire to be a part of a growing company. The logistics Coordinator will be responsible for booking shipments, clearing customs and making sure the shipments meet the deadlines. Streamlining the whole logistics process will be an integral part of the role as well.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong knowledge of customs clearance procedures and import regulations in Canada and the US : HS codes, FDA, Bond, tariffs, etc
  • Experience working with freight forwarders, shipping carriers and customs brokers.
  • Logistics experience with road, rail, air and ocean shipments as well as with couriers.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities with our partners and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in ERP and Google Suites.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines effectively.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the imports from global suppliers into Canada and the US.
  • Manage and track shipments from origin to destination, ensuring timely deliveries.
  • Handle customs and QA documentation and ensure compliance with import and export regulations.
  • Work closely with customs brokers, carriers and buyers to streamline the import process.
  • Communicate with internal teams to provide updates on shipping schedules and resolve any transportation issues.
  • Streamline the logistics processes.
  • Monitor shipment costs, approve bills and optimize logistics to improve efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, invoices, and compliance documents.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any delays, damages, or issues with carriers and suppliers.
