Responsibilities
  • Planning and coordinating the transportation of goods to ensure they arrive at their designated location in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Analyzing transportation routes, methods, and carriers to determine the most efficient and economical options for moving goods
  • Evaluating the performance of transportation providers and making recommendations for improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Implementing technology solutions to streamline logistics processes, such as tracking systems for inventory and shipping
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with shipping carriers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods
  • Monitoring inventory levels to ensure an adequate supply of goods is available for shipment, while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs
  • Conducting cost-benefit analyses to determine the most cost-effective modes of transportation or shipping methods
  • Creating and maintaining documentation and record keeping related to logistics and transportation activities
  • Communicating with various stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and internal teams, to ensure smooth logistics operations
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings, and presenting recommendations to management
