Description

About the job

If you have ever pushed a shipment out of a factory overseas, chased a supplier for a readiness date, queried a freight invoice or costed a container into stock, this role will make sense to you in about thirty seconds.

LogiHire is recruiting for an Australian owned wholesale and distribution business on Brisbane's southside. They supply well known consumer brands into retail across Australia and New Zealand, and they are growing through retail expansion and a direct to consumer channel that keeps getting bigger. The supply chain team is small, well run and close to the decisions. What you do here shows up on the shelf.

Why this one is worth a look

  • $85,000 to $90,000 plus super for someone with hands on international shipment experience.
  • 12 month maternity leave cover with a real path to permanent. The business is expanding quickly.
  • Commercial weight. You own freight cost targets, consolidation decisions and landed cost, not just system updates.
  • Onsite on the southside with free parking, and a day from home on the table once you are settled.
  • Fast process. One phone screen, one interview, decision made.

What you will actually do

  • Run inbound shipments from multiple overseas origins, ex factory through to receipted stock
  • Book and track shipments with forwarders and shipping agents, and coordinate consolidations so containers move full and on time
  • Chase supplier readiness dates and keep purchase order timing accurate
  • Check freight invoices and resolve short shipments, pricing variances and documentation issues
  • Prepare shipment costing so landed cost is right first time
  • Compare air and sea quotes and find the cheaper, faster or smarter way to move it
  • Keep the inbound status report current so planning and buying know exactly what is landing and when
  • Back up the Logistics Coordinator on New Zealand shipments, projects and process improvements

Who this suits

  • Two or more years coordinating international shipments. You have dealt with forwarders directly and know what an import file looks like when it goes sideways
  • Comfortable with purchase orders, stock receipting and landed cost
  • ERP experience essential, strong Excel a real advantage
  • Wholesale, retail, distribution or freight forwarding operations background. Forwarders wanting to move client side are very welcome here
  • Organised and known for getting the detail right
  • Current driver's licence

My client needs someone who has run international freight. Someone who has chased a factory overseas for a readiness date, pulled a consolidation together so the container leaves full, gone through a forwarder's invoice line by line and costed the shipment into stock so the landed cost is right the first time.

Also on offerStaff discounts on the brands they carry, a wellbeing allowance, employee assistance program, free onsite parking and regular team lunches and social outings.
