POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a reliable and highly organized Logistics Coordinator to oversee and manage our daily freight and parcel shipping operations. This role is not a forklift-only position — it involves a broad range of responsibilities, including scheduling shipments, communicating with carriers, handling shipping documentation, filing freight claims, and assisting with general warehouse operations when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, or warehouse coordination preferred
• Comfortable using computers and shipping software/platforms
• Experience working with parcel and freight carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL carriers)
• Attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy of shipping documents and schedules.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Ability to handle multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
• Quick decision-making skills when addressing shipment issues.
• Familiarity with logistics software, spreadsheets, and other tracking systems.
• Previous experience in shipping and receiving or a similar role is a must.
• Strong basic math skills for accurate order processing.
• Knowledge of international shipping is required.
• Physical capability to lift heavy items as required in a warehouse setting.
• Forklift experience is helpful, but this is not a forklift operator position

• Coordinate all outgoing freight and parcel shipments (LTL, ground, express)
• Select the most efficient shipping routes and methods.
• Coordinate with carriers, drivers, and warehouse teams to ensure the timely dispatch of goods.
• Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, customs forms, and shipping manifests.
• Ensure that all paperwork is accurate and compliant with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor the status of shipments in transit and address any issues such as delays, damages, or lost goods.
• File and track freight claims for lost or damaged shipments
• Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders or customers regarding shipment status.
• Serve as a point of contact for customers, suppliers, and freight service providers to address inquiries, concerns, and special requests.
• Resolve any shipment discrepancies, such as missing or damaged item, in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate with inventory control teams to ensure proper stock levels and avoid any shortages or overstocking.
• Ensure that goods are correctly labeled and stored before shipment.
• Ensure that all shipping processes comply with transportation laws, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and shipping best practices.
• Process e-commerce orders by picking, packing, and preparing items for shipment.
• Assist with general warehouse support (e.g., organizing materials, preparing items for shipment)
• Operate a forklift or pallet jack as needed — but this is not the primary function of the role
