The Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods and materials from suppliers to customers. This position requires a keen focus on coordinating all aspects of transportation, including scheduling, tracking, and troubleshooting to guarantee timely delivery. Additionally, the role demands a thorough understanding of regulations and compliance standards related to shipping and logistics. This ensures that all shipments, whether domestic or international, adhere to legal requirements, including customs and import/export rules. Through efficient coordination and problem-solving, the Logistics Coordinator minimizes delays, optimizes costs, and maintains an uninterrupted flow of goods, ultimately supporting the overall success of the business. Schedule: Monday – Friday: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm (On-site) Occasionally, additional hours may be required to complete tasks and/or projects. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: · Follow up on automated emails from carriers regarding delivery appointment changes. · Assign a dedicated person to monitor every order's shipping and receiving process. · Reschedule orders to new ship dates in case of delays. · Manage demurrage charges for PBS deliveries. · Oversee PBS truck delivery appointments. · Address carrier delivery issues, including delays at the customer's dock. · Handle trucking claims. · Generate truck freight reports. · Approve payments through Bill.com. · Maintain the daily appointment calendar, adding additional days or weeks as needed. · Process shipping claims. · Manage the Logistics email inbox. · Prepare shipping tags and notices in EDI. · Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments. · Organize end-of-week line-ups with carriers. · Prepare meat line-ups for the following week’s deliveries. · Perform all other related duties as required. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field is preferred. 3-5 years of proven experience working as a Logistics Coordinator. Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is preferred, specifically Microsoft Dynamics/Business Central. Proficiency in all Microsoft applications. QuickBooks experience is a plus. Good oral & written communication skills. Customer service skills. Able to multi-task and be flexible in a dynamic work environment while maintaining strong attention to detail. Ability to work with deadlines. Focused on orders, quality, and accuracy. Ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer terminal. Ability to stand and walk throughout the warehouse and office building. Demonstrate intellectual curiosity about why things are the way they are; challenge the status quo. Demonstrate a tendency toward action; materialize thoughts into products or services. Teamwork and cooperation - be part of the team and work together for ideas and opinions for planning and decision making.
