Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience in logistics or transportation will be considered.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners.
  • Experience using TMS software and logistics platforms preferred; proficiency is a plus

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Branch VP, the Logistics Coordinator will be responsible covering operations and customer service duties as needed. You will also ensure the timely and reliable movement of freight for our customers. As a key member of the team, you’ll collaborate closely with operations, sales, and customer service teams to deliver seamless logistics solutions. This role plays a part in strengthening carrier partnerships and customer relations while continuously improving service performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing customers and carrier partners.
  • Oversee load entry, ensuring all shipment details, statuses, and notes are accurate and up to date in the TMS.
  • Schedule and confirm pickup/delivery appointments with warehouses and customers promptly.
  • Maintain error-free, accounting-ready load records in the TMS.
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve shipment, billing, or follow-up issues with the Sales Manager and Carrier Operations team.
  • Match customer needs with carrier capabilities, preferences, and service offerings.
  • Secure reliable carrier capacity to meet current and future shipping demands.
  • Track shipments, investigate potential delays, and address service-level inconsistencies.
  • Onboard, develop, and strengthen carrier relationships to diversify the network.
  • Negotiate competitive rates and terms while protecting company margins.
  • Partner with customer service and sales teams to ensure seamless order execution.
  • Manage delays and resolve transportation issues while maintaining transparent communication with carriers.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between customers and carriers for smooth interactions and problem-solving.
  • Implement proactive strategies to improve delivery performance and reduce service interruptions.
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation skills to confidently close agreements.
  • Balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Monitor market trends and adjust pricing strategies to stay competitive.
