Are you a driven and detail-oriented individual with experience in supply chain and logistics? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a strong understanding of freight operations, particularly in ocean exports/imports? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Supply Chain/Logistics coordinator.
With imports from over 50 countries and exports to 20, alongside an extensive domestic distribution, Shah Trading has a broad footprint in the global distribution network. As Supply Chain/Logistics Coordinator, the successful candidate will be the maestro, coordinating and organizing an efficient flow of goods across the globe. They will have the overall responsibility for managing the transport needs of the organization, ensuring that goods are coming in and going out at the right time and cost.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma/Certificate in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain/freight operations, preferably 1+ years of experience in supply chain
  • Effective communicator, both oral & written, with the ability to develop & implement a broad strategy
  • Strong interpersonal Capabilities, able to work cross-functionally with other functions, leaders, direct reports & peers.
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to use data to make informed business decisions.
  • Knowledge of different types of equipment for transportation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is a must (ERP, Microsoft BC is an asset)
  • Basic understanding of brokering truckloads, scheduling pickups, deliveries, and tracking shipments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills with a strong ability to prioritize job tasks
  • Reliable and work well in a team environment with a positive and collaborative work ethic
  • Experience in the agricultural commodities trading industry will be highly desirable
Responsibilities
  • Manage beginning-to-end order cycle for all the raw materials/finished products using the company ERP system.
  • Coordinate and execute efficient ocean export/ import operations, ensuring timely loading and compliance with regulatory requirements (CFIA/Phyto/etc).
  • Coordinate all export shipments and manage ocean freight bookings/loadings/documentations within tight deadlines.
  • Review/approve all documentation (i.e., invoices, BOL, and other relevant documents)
  • Liaise and collaborate with suppliers to ensure document accuracy.
  • Monitor data management to keep accurate product, contract, pricing, and invoicing information.
  • Working closely with shipping and warehouse teams to ensure timely loadings/deliveries.
  • Regularly collaborate with procurement, operations, and customer service teams.
  • Assist in risk assessment and mitigation activities within the supply chain.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of relevant regulations and ensure our supply chain operations are fully compliant.
  • Provide routine support to the Supply Chain team with regards to data entry, coordination of information flow, and project coordination
