We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Co-Ordinator to join our team at Tensator, with a strong focus on managing both sea and air freight operations. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end movement of goods—from inbound receipt to final distribution—across domestic, European, and global markets. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective logistics processes that align with company goals and support customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include transport management (road, sea, air), customs clearance procedures, international shipping documentation, and maintaining full compliance with trade regulations. You will also work cross-functionally with Production, Sales, Purchasing, and Warehousing to synchronise logistics activities, optimise freight performance, and deliver exceptional operational results.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
· Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade C or above), including English and Mathematics or equivalent.
· Proven experience in a logistics, shipping, or supply chain coordination role.
· Familiarity with export procedures, especially to the Far East and Middle East.
· Sound understanding of global trade regulations, customs documentation, and Incoterms.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP systems.

Transport, Freight & Distribution Operations
· Coordinate and manage all aspects of domestic, European, and international shipments, including road, sea, and air freight operations.
· Plan and schedule deliveries in alignment with production timelines and customer expectations, while optimising transport efficiency and cost.
Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, and third-party logistics providers to ensure timely · and seamless movement of goods.
· Prepare and process customs clearance documentation, including import/export declarations, licenses, permits, and certificates of origin, ensuring accuracy and legal compliance.
· Ensure full adherence to international trade regulations, Incoterms, and customs requirements for both import and export activities.
· Monitor and evaluate freight costs, negotiate competitive rates with carriers, and optimise shipping routes and modes to reduce costs and improve delivery performance.
· Maintain accurate and complete records of all shipments, including Proof of Delivery (PODs), Proof of Export (POEs), commercial invoices, and compliance documentation.
· Address and resolve transportation issues such as delivery delays, customs holds, and documentation discrepancies, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational continuity.
· Support the management of dangerous goods shipments, particularly lithium-ion batteries and similar items, in line with relevant safety regulations and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) requirements.
· Collaborate effectively with internal teams including Sales, Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Warehousing to coordinate logistics operations and support business needs.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of logistics best practices, regulatory changes, customs compliance standards, and emerging trends in global transportation.
· Monitor and enforce compliance with all European and international shipping regulations, contributing to the integrity and efficiency of Tensator’s global supply chain.
Reverse Logistics
· Oversee the handling and processing of returned goods, classification.
Cross-Functional Communication & Coordination
· Liaise closely with Production Planning to align shipment schedules with sales orders.
· Communicate with Sales, Purchasing, and Finance teams to ensure full transparency on orders, costs, and any logistics-related issues.
· Check Purchase Orders for freight, transport costs and freight Invoices.
Traceability & KPI Monitoring
· Ensure complete product traceability and order oversight throughout the entire lifecycle, from initiation to final delivery.
· Monitor logistics KPIs (e.g. on-time delivery, freight cost performance, stock accuracy) and implement corrective actions where required.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics function.
· Ensure the acquisition and proper documentation of proof of export and proof of delivery for all shipments.
