JOB SUMMARY

The Logistics and Distribution Manager will lead and oversee all aspects of the company’s cannabis distribution network in New York State. This role is critical for ensuring seamless operations, including inventory management, transportation logistics, order fulfillment, and delivery while maintaining strict adherence to state and local cannabis regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, with experience in regulated industries, and will drive efficiency, compliance, and team performance to support business growth.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain management, preferably in a regulated industry such as pharmaceuticals, alcohol, or cannabis.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and managing warehouse or distribution operations, including inventory control and transportation logistics.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance requirements, with experience in inventory tracking systems and regulatory reporting; familiarity with New York State cannabis regulations (e.g., MRTA and OCM guidelines) is highly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in logistics software, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, in accordance with New York cannabis industry standards for roles involving product handling and distribution.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a warehouse environment as needed.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience in the cannabis industry, including knowledge of product types, packaging, and secure distribution practices.
  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS) or hazardous materials handling.
  • Familiarity with proprietary cannabis tracking systems (e.g., seed-to-sale software).
  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team development and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement overall logistics and distribution strategies for cannabis and cannabis-infused products, including route optimization, warehouse operations, and supply chain coordination.
  • Supervise daily distribution activities, such as scheduling deliveries, managing fleet operations, and overseeing order fulfillment to ensure timely and accurate product delivery to licensed retailers.
  • Lead a team of distribution staff, including drivers, warehouse personnel, and coordinators; handle staffing, training, performance evaluations, and compliance with labor laws.
  • Maintain accurate inventory tracking using proprietary management systems, ensuring real-time visibility of stock levels, product traceability, and secure storage in compliance with NY OCM regulations.
  • Ensure full compliance with all New York State cannabis laws, including secure transportation protocols, product handling standards, record-keeping, and reporting requirements; conduct regular audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., procurement, sales, and compliance) and external partners (e.g., cultivators and dispensaries) to streamline operations and resolve logistical challenges.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery times, cost efficiency, and inventory accuracy; analyze data to identify improvements and reduce operational costs.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance, safety protocols, and risk management to minimize disruptions and ensure the safety of personnel and products.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in cannabis distribution to enhance operational effectiveness.
