Assist in optimizing supply chain operations and enhancing efficiency through data analysis, process improvement, and collaborative efforts as a Logistics Engineering Co-Op. This is a Full-Time Co-Op Internship with expected dates to run from August 17th-December 18th in our Durham, NC office. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Validate system data for time studies, historical data analysis and process review to determine validity of proposed process changes Analyze business/performance metrics and impacts across the site and develop BI tools to make analysis repeatable for less technical users Create and maintain dashboard measures to support senior management Identify barriers to performance and assist Leadership Team in identifying/analyzing root cause and effect and develop action plans to resolve Support all continuous improvement initiatives in Logistics with idea generation, leading improvement teams, idea gathering from floor workers, etc. Lead testing and validation of system enhancements Execute projects including layout redesign and material handling improvements Create/maintain procedures, guides, and process documentation COMPETENCIES: Excellent data analysis skills through Excel and BI type tools Database / SQL knowledge Excellent organizational skills /detail oriented Exposure to analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving methods (Lean, Six Sigma, A3, etc.) Self-directed, task oriented, and flexible in fast-paced distribution environment Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Strong communication skills (written & verbal) Problem-solve and develop ideas and suggestions for process improvements.
