OVERVIEW

As a key member of our Management Team, the Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the smooth flow of merchandise from the back door to the sales floor while ensuring high-quality, engaging, and profitable in-store promotions. This role combines the leadership of warehouse operations with the creativity and execution of promotional strategies, ensuring our feature areas are seasonally relevant, well-presented, and fully stocked. The Logistics Manager will lead, motivate, and develop their team to deliver exceptional operational efficiency and an outstanding customer experience.

REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS

  • Proven experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or retail promotions.
  • Supervisory or managerial experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to plan, execute, and follow up on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, inventory systems, and basic math.
  • Ability to lift and carry merchandise regularly (items may vary from light to heavy).
  • Certification to operate lift equipment (or willingness to obtain).
  • Knowledge of Canadian Tire operations is an asset.
  • Training in Transportation of Dangerous Goods and firearms handling (or willingness to complete).
  • Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
  • Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, using a ladder, twisting, turning and reaching.
  • Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make difficult decisions.

Responsibilities

Warehouse & Logistics:

  • Lead and manage the warehouse team to ensure efficient receiving, storage, and delivery of merchandise.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Oversee daily operations, including inventory management, damage tracking, and returns processing.
  • Ensure timely movement of merchandise from trucks to the retail floor.
  • Plan and execute seasonal changeovers and large-scale product transitions.
  • Operate and maintain computerized inventory scanning systems.

Promotions & Merchandising:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute weekly in-store promotions and feature displays.
  • Maintain attractive, fully stocked, and well-labeled promotional areas.
  • Select a mix of seasonal, deal, impulse, and regular merchandise for feature areas to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure promotional goals align with store objectives.
  • Track sales and product performance, adjusting promotional strategies as needed.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Train, coach, and supervise team members to deliver excellent customer service and meet performance goals.
  • Create and manage staff schedules for both warehouse and promotions teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and participate in store management meetings.

Health & Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, health and safety regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Promote safe work practices and lead by example.
