Logistics Manager — A.J. Bush & Sons

An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced Logistics Manager to join A.J. Bush & Sons, a well-established Australian manufacturing business operating within the food and agribusiness sector.

This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing inbound and outbound logistics, production scheduling, fleet operations, export coordination and continuous improvement across a high-volume, 24/7 manufacturing environment. It's ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of logistics, operations and manufacturing - driving efficiencies, leading teams and influencing business performance.

About the role Reporting to the COO, you'll take ownership of the site's end-to-end logistics function, ensuring the seamless movement of raw materials and finished products while supporting production planning and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading all inbound and outbound logistics activities across multiple regions
  • Managing transport operations, fleet scheduling and third-party logistics providers
  • Coordinating production scheduling to align with manufacturing capacity
  • Overseeing export logistics, shipping documentation and regulatory compliance
  • Managing site logistics including weighbridge operations, traffic flow and storage capacity
  • Working closely with Engineering to coordinate preventative maintenance schedules
  • Developing KPIs and dashboards to monitor freight costs, DIFOT and operational performance
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Leading and developing a high-performing logistics team within a safety-first culture

About you

  • Senior Logistics, Supply Chain or Operations leadership experience within food manufacturing, meat processing, agribusiness or heavy industrial manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of transport operations, production planning and inventory management
  • Sound understanding of Australian transport legislation, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), NHVR requirements and workplace safety
  • Exposure to export logistics and compliance (highly regarded)
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse data and drive improvements
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with ERP, Transport Management Systems (TMS) and reporting tools such as Power BI
