Job Details Job Location: Comm III - Sun Prairie, WI Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: Undisclosed Job Shift: Office - Days Description Drives World Class shipping metrics, and tracks on time shipment performance and line fill by shipment and shares results with Logistics team and upper management. Manage and Analyze Freight costs by state/carrier to ensure the company has proper Freight margin and cost coverage. LTL Freight negotiations and Rate management with all LTL carriers servicing the company. Overall management of TL carriers to book full truck loads and negotiate rates to ensure we are profitable on all shipments and when Logistic Manager/Supervisor(s) are out of the office. Back up to Logistics Supervisor(s). Ensures department is within budget on a monthly basis; Propose strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures of logistics department. Overseas corrective action with missed shipments/line items. Ensure the Logistics Supervisor/Coordinators complete the weekly truck load shipping schedule for the next week and all truckloads have assigned/confirmed carriers. Ensure sales orders and picking tickets are printed and distributed to shipping department. Work with planning/production/shipping departments to ensure schedules are achieved and ensure all product groups are shipping on time. Effectively supervise the Logistics team, both union and non-union members on a daily basis. This includes onboarding new teammates, establishing cross-training in the different areas of the shipping function, holding teammates accountable and working with Human Resources to implement disciplinary action as needed. Partner with planning/purchasing on strategies and issue resolution for slow moving/OBS inventory in the warehouse area. ECN activity as related to process inventory. Communicate with inventory and warehouse employees to meet business goals and address personnel issues. Verify warehouse teammates are effectively using scan guns, BIN movements, transfers between campuses and locations. Demonstrate leadership skills and develop new employees, train and mentor including reinforcement of safety guidelines. Communicates safety activities and safety program to direct reports, accountable for all Safety requirements and Employee training within the department. Maintain excellent communication, cooperation, and teamwork among all stakeholders within the company. Qualifications A BA or BS Degree in Operations Management, Production Planning, Inventory Management, Supply Chain or other related business field with five to ten years’ work experience in a shipping or receiving environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Understands computerized inventory tracking and record keeping system. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook required. Experience with Business Central ERP system a plus. Previous supervisory/managerial experience required. Demonstrates logical and creative problem-solving techniques. Effectively communicates both verbal and written. Must be a committed team player. Must demonstrate the flexibility to adapt to constant change, interruptions, and repetition without losing efficiency or focus. This position requires a need to exercise independent judgment and action.
