What you’ll do:
Viasat is seeking an experienced logistics and warehouse Manager to support Viasat’s UK, Europe and African Energy Services logistics and fulfillment function. Your responsibilities will be diverse in this autonomous role, but you will be empowered to use your initiative and skills in a variety of functions. You will process sales orders and coordinate transportation moves, globally, with efficiency and in a cost effective and compliant manner. You will manage the warehouse and all inventory management functions from receiving, put away, pick, pack and dispatch. You will also prepare and maintain logistics processes and transportation cost models, custom’s compliance, reporting and analysis. You will liaise with internal departments, external customers and assist with the management of Viasat’s third party distribution (3PL) centers, transportation providers with end to end logistics processes that enable the movement of product throughout Viasat’s Global Supply Chain. The individual should have the ability to collect and analyze data to help improve the organization’s supply chain activities, monitor inventory stock levels, support the supply chain team.
The day-to-day:
Manage on site warehouse and inventory, review import/export documentation, forwarding and invoicing instructions based upon the customer or partner profile to ensure that products are exported in a timely manner with proper documentation to the receiving party and in compliance with all governmental regulations. Analyze the strategic savings opportunities through system tools in place.
Duties will also include the improvement of processes and costs, negotiation with brokers, forwarders, truckers, and handle issues with Customs or other government officials.
- Pick and pack or orders in the warehouse.
- Inventory management, inbound, outbound and all transactions.
- Prepare all necessary transport documents required to process inventory moves and sales orders
- Maintain key reporting metrics and analysis
- Solicit and prepare transportation/additional packing quotes
- Schedule freight moves leveraging established global 3PL network
- Provide product movement & Inventory updates to all internal and external parties as required
- Ensures 3PL providers are executing all transportation moves in accordance with established service agreements & maintain all existing warehouse MSA’s.
- Collaborate with third party logistics providers, carriers, and freight brokers to maintain and continuously improve service levels and costs associated with third-party transportation
- Provides approvals to account payable department to reconcile freight invoices
- Works closely with finance, program management, supply chain, compliance and operations teams.
- Actively manage operational process controls through regular activity and training with the ViaSat Compliance Team, Product Management, Logistics, Sales, Finance, Marketing and Legal to keep the company compliant with trade and distribution regulations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the area of responsibility through data analysis and creation of metrics
- Ability to both lead and act as a member of a team
- Assist management and logistics managers in the development of procedures and processes which improve Viasat’s ability to meet product system and customer requirements
- Communicate with peers and supervisors regularly, document work, meetings, and decisions
- Analyze, maintain and be responsible for the process for managing inventory control activities
- Manage quotations received from third party partners to assure that all pertinent information is available; best price, and service
- Participate in the development of new services and systems, continuously look for ways to improve workflow and ensure the supply chain systems are on a continuous path to improvement

What you’ll need:
- UK Passport or Citizenship or Valid UK Work Permit required
- 3+ years of experience in a warehousing, logistics & distribution, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Fluent in English (any other language an asset)
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, and research skills.
- Knowledge of import/export regulations and VAT.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Strong organization, oral and written communication skills a must
- Excellent follow up and customer service skills
- Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies
- Ability to work with little or no direction, can work independently and collaboratively as a team member to meet goals while maintaining an organized and systematic approach to task completion

What will help you on the job:

- Bachelors in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement or related field
- Experience with establishing a new warehouse and WMS systems.
- SAP or a comparable ERP inventory management tool, Excel, JIRA, Service Now and Transportation Management systems knowledge preferred
- Experience and certification driving a forklift or able to be trained.
- Knowledge of reporting and analytical tools
- High analytical aptitude capable of interpreting data to identify trends
