The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. Our team is currently looking for a talented individual to fill the role of Logistics Operations Manager at our Clayton, Ohio Distribution Center (DC). This Distribution Center plays an important role within the Parts Distribution Network as an entry point facility, supplying other global parts DCs. The Clayton DC supports four regional facing dealers as well as others, both domestically and worldwide.
As a Logistics Operations Manager , you will have an opportunity to manage all aspects of a storeroom operation including responsibility for Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and Maintenance performance, to provide World Class service to assigned dealers and direct-end users.

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for training, developing and mentoring, all personnel issues, and performance evaluation of subordinates.
  • Responsible for input to the facility business plans including preparation of manpower, capital, and expense budgets.
  • Monitoring and managing key performance criteria.
  • Developing medium term strategic plans and direction.
  • Responsible for safety/environmental compliance.
  • Training and development for 50 (including production, support and management).
  • Data collection and analytical activities
  • Maintaining and updating facility/department metrics

What You Have:

  • Previous experience in parts distribution operations, supply chain, safety, and/or quality functions
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Experience with EWM/SAP systems and Power BI experience
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Relationship Management: Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with leaders, peers and subordinates. Good relationship skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department. Conducts performance reviews of work effort, progress, issues, and successes of direct reports. Empowers team to establish collaborative, healthy relationships and creates opportunities to educate support teams on business priorities.
