Job Title: Logistics Operations Specialist
Location: Calgary, Alberta (Hybrid – 3 days in office, Tuesdays & Wednesdays mandatory)
Job Type: 8-Month Contract | Full-Time
Pay: From $40 per hour/ T4 and $65/hr on Independent Contractor
Expected Hours: 40 hours per week

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Operations Specialist to join our Calgary-based operations team on an 8-month contract. In this role, you will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating rail movements from internal and third-party terminals across Canada, supporting the transportation of multiple product lines.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong Excel skills, and can effectively coordinate with both internal teams and external stakeholders. This role also requires flexibility to provide on-call and occasional weekend support as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or rail transportation scheduling (preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to be on-call and work weekends when required
  • Must be able to work on-site in Calgary three days per week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays are mandatory in-office days)

Responsibilities
  • Schedule and coordinate rail transportation for multiple products from both company-owned and third-party terminals
  • Monitor and manage daily logistics operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency
  • Collaborate with supply chain teams, terminal operations, and external partners to resolve scheduling or operational issues
  • Maintain and update logistics data using Excel spreadsheets and internal databases
  • Provide on-call support and assist during weekend operations when required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing logistics performance and efficiency
