Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As the Logistics Operations Supervisor, you are responsible for supervising the operations of receiving & delivery of dedicated freight to meet contractual requirements in a 24-hour environment, Monday through Saturday service including daily dock operations, drivers, fleet, and dispatch.
This worker must understand the impact of this position to other business functions that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of warehouse operations. Inventory management, order picking, and relations with other members of the operations team are essential functions for this position.

You will:

  • Lead, motivate, and support staff and drivers to achieve company performance goals.
  • Responsible for warehouse and dispatch operations including shipping/receiving, routing, scheduling, and managing hired trucks within the service area.
  • Support all stakeholders with resource planning.
  • Conduct daily roll calls, fill in for dispatch roles when needed, and ensure shift coverage.
  • Communicate and track monthly performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal/provincial transportation, safety, and employment regulations.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings and ensure incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate warehouse activities, including inventory management, forklift operation, freight consolidation, and load scheduling.
  • Supervise loading/unloading of freight and ensure shipment accuracy and safe handling.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to resolve daily roadblocks.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment and support the company’s safety culture.
  • Ensure WMS/TMS records are up-to-date and accurate for all inbound/outbound shipments.
  • Performs other duties as required

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • Minimum 2 years of managerial ot supervisory experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in warehousing, transportation, dispatch, and terminal operations.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based systems; experience with RF scanners, WMS & TMS is an asset.
  • Valid and clean BC driver’s license
  • Hands-on knowledge of warehouse and transport equipment (e.g., forklifts, lift jacks, trailers).
  • Experience with forklift loading and unloading enclosed trailer, flat decks and containers
  • Physically fit and able to perform some lifting up to 50lbs, able to stand for extended periods of time, indoors and outdoors.
  • Able to work outside regular warehouse hours if required
  • Ability to work independently, thrive in a dynamic environment, and take direction well from management.
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and writing, problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle changing priorities
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills with the ability to drive engagement and performance.
  • Strong safety mindset and experience in safety-sensitive environments.
  • Ability to speak both English and Punjabi an asset
