Description
Overview: This position is responsible for performing shipment data entry work using the appropriate software; entering, updating, verifying and/or retrieving shipping information from various systems; and ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of information needed. This position will report to the Parcel Supervisor and will work closely with Customer Service, Logistics, Fulfillment, and Operations. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Enter, update, and verify data for inbound and outbound shipments into the vendor’s system with a high level of accuracy. Track shipment details, locations, and estimated time of arrivals. Request clarification or advise supervisor of issues related to shipping data and keep informed of ongoing performance issues. Collaborate with team members on matters affecting logistics data consistency and integrity. Communicate with cross-functional teams including managers, warehouse staff, Customer Service, carriers, freight vendors and others regarding shipping and delivery issues. Perform regular quality checks on data to identify and correct errors. Make recommendations for improvement or enhancement to job processes to ensure standards in logistics data. Competencies: Proven experience in data entry or a related field Proficient in data entry software and MS Office Suite Excellent typing skills and accuracy Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Strong organization and communication skills Previous experience with FedEx systems is a plus Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment: Work is regularly performed in a professional office environment. This role routinely used standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Other locations may include warehouse environments and are regularly exposed to heavy machinery and noise. Physical Demands: Walk, sit, stand, bend, lift, and move continuously during work hours. Is subject to lifting over 10 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday 40 hours per week. Occasional overtime may be required as job duties demand. Travel: No travel is required for this position.
