We’re looking for a Logistics Process Auditor and Supplier Management Specialist. Reporting directly to the Manager, Inbound Logistics this role is responsible for independently coordinating the supplier management process. This involves working closely with suppliers, other logistics functions, and various business units such as procurement and quality assurance to ensure timely and efficient implementation of logistics processes with our material suppliers. The role includes conducting logistics process audits at supplier locations both domestically in Canada and internationally, as well as overseeing the implementation of suggested improvements.
This is a temporary flex hybrid model requiring 2 days in the St. Thomas office, subject to change based on the needs and nature of this project. During certain phases of the build, a full-time onsite presence may be a requirement.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Advise PowerCo Canada on developing supplier management strategies across global markets.
  • Align and implement the supplier management strategy in collaboration with the Inbound Logistics department and PowerCo headquarters.
  • Consult with cross-functional teams (e.g. procurement, quality, technical development) to identify and qualify suppliers that align with business goals, and coordinate logistic process audit activities for potential material suppliers.
  • Conduct logistics process quality audits as certified lead auditor as per the standards provided by the VDA 6.3 and VDA 6.8 guidelines.
  • Provide strategic recommendations and guidance regarding suppliers’ performances, logistics processes, and technologies.
  • Provide guidance to suppliers on best practices from the automotive industry and PowerCo’s policies and procedures, guiding them in meeting defined processes, cost targets, and deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key material suppliers.
  • Consult on facilitating effective communication and collaboration strategies between internal teams and suppliers.
  • Advise on the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) for supplier logistics performance. Regularly monitor and evaluate supplier performance against established KPIs.
  • Provide recommendations for improving logistics cost efficiency. Support the the implementation of cost efficiency initiatives without compromising quality and service levels.
  • Advise and align local adaptations to material planning processes and logistics specifications (SOWs) for PowerCo Canada with global material planning processes and standards.
  • Provide advice on business requirements for IT solutions supporting the material planning processes, including the data exchange with external partners/suppliers (EDI).
  • Support the SAP ERP implementation as key user for the inbound logistics team.
  • Prepare strategic presentations and business cases for senior management, including investment and process improvement proposals.
  • Work closely with cross-departmental teams to align logistics and supplier management strategies.Lead projects focused on business process optimization and logistics strategy implementation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • A bachelor’s degree or college diploma in business administration, logistics, supply chain management or a related discipline or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 5+ years spent in related logistics or supply chain management or supply chain consulting functions, ideally within a global organization
  • Certified logistics process auditor (VDA 6.3 and/or VDA 6.8 standards)
