DESCRIPTION

As part of the Logistics senior management team, this key operational role has overall day to day responsibility for the running of all Distribution Centre sites across the North. Supporting Livingston, Seaham, Elland, Doncaster and Knowsley.
We are looking for the right individual to lead and motivate a diverse team to set and maintain industry leading site standards with the ultimate aim of delivering the best possible customer experience in the most cost effective manner. Working closely with the North counterpart as we aim to bring best practice and consistency across the network in all logistics matters.

Responsibilities
  • Management of all Distribution Centre sites across the North region to implement best practice processes, with a continual improvement philosophy
  • Use a balanced scorecard approach to improve customer facing KPI’s by investing in people processes, whilst implementing best practice operational standard operating procedures and keeping tight control of costs
  • Lead the health and safety agenda across the sites, making it clear to all sites that the safety and general standards on site are top priority
  • Own the operating budget process for the sites, producing realistic but challenging targets, identifying risks and opportunities and ensuring substantial compliance to the budget
  • Identify opportunity areas and implement a clear improvement plan for each site which is regularly reviewed with the Head of Logistics
  • Provide leadership to a diverse team and create a vision to inspire and motivate colleagues, drive a culture of high performance, identify and address capability gaps and ensure talent and succession planning is in place
  • Working closely with the rest of the Logistics senior management team to ensure we have a well aligned, joined up approach to achieve the best outcome for the customer whilst getting things right first time to achieve operational efficiencies
  • Drive RIGHT value behaviors whilst embracing a ‘challenge for benefit’ culture which will also encompass a continual improvement philosophy
  • Work closely with cross functional peers across the senior leadership team, representing Logistics in improving communication and collaboration across the business
