SKILLS REQUIRED:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred
  • Experience of working within a regulated environment and a complex matrix management structure
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis and decision-making
  • Ability to lead and influence teams
  • Experience in process improvement and risk management

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • BPSS Pre-screening required to Start
  • Must possess or be able to obtain UK Security Check (SC) clearance or higher (if applicable) for the role

WHO WE ARE:

The Logistics Commodities & Services Transformation (LCST) Programme for the UK Ministry of Defence is a critical effort to enhance and improve the UK’s defence supply chain. The programme provides essential services such as storage and distribution for the MOD’s materiel, including a global freight service and the procurement and inventory management of 70,000 commodity NATO Stock Number (NSNs).
Working together as Team Leidos we are helping to transform the UK’s defence supply chain by providing an integration of a complex mixture of services, at low risk, using a modern suite of systems that will deliver one version of the truth. For the first time, the MOD will see the whole picture, as it is happening.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Logistics Solution Manager will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing storage capacity, developing and implementing advanced modelling and forecasting techniques, and designing effective logistics solutions. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and experience in logistics and supply chain management.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Storage Capacity Management: Analyse and optimise storage capacity to ensure efficient use of space and resources.
  • Modelling and Forecasting: Develop and implement advanced models and forecasting techniques to predict demand, manage inventory, and improve supply chain efficiency.
  • Solution Design: Design and implement innovative logistics solutions to meet client needs and improve overall supply chain performance.
  • Data Analysis: Utilise data analytics to assess performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage logistics projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance logistics operations.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on logistics performance, storage capacity, and forecasting accuracy.
