Job Description
Reporting to the Director, Logistics, this position is responsible for managing complex sourcing projects and initiatives within the Logistics space to help achieve cost, service and quality improvements within our logistics operations and FBIN network.
Position location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness and recreation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or other business-related focus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Logistics or Sourcing experience is required.
  • MS Office experience (Excel, Power Point, Word).
  • ERP system experience (preferably Oracle or SAP).
  • Transportation Management System experience (preferably Mercury Gate or Oracle OTM).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize efforts.
  • Ability to cope with ambiguity and problem solve.
  • Ability to make independent decisions based on sound rationale and alignment with FBIN’s operational standards and goals.

    Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $81,000 USD - $124,300 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with Sourcing team on logistics projects to improve cost, service and quality. Examples of this include annual bids for truckload, LTL and ocean categories.
  • Lead the execution of all logistics related tasks for project implementations and carrier transitions.
  • Act as Logistics team lead on all carrier escalation issues and price negotiations.
  • Monitor and manage carrier performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities for both cost and service initiatives through data analysis with internal and external customer engagement.
  • Analyze freight spend data by region, carrier, mode, and customer to understand trends and mitigate risk.
  • Constructively challenge standard process approaches in place to deliver cost savings and improved services to our FBIN customers.
  • Identify new carriers and service options to improve operations and cost.
