JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a key member of the supply chain team, the Logistics Specialist will manage and execute the import logistics and reporting functions for ITW Global Tire Repair. This role acts as a trusted partner, building strong relationships with carriers, forwarders, brokers, and other logistics service providers, and ensuring prioritized product availability and cost efficiency.
The Logistics Specialist maintains the Import Tracking Master as the main communication tool for the supply chain, develops accurate, timely reporting and analytics, and works closely with production, planning, and other departments to ensure on-time customer delivery.
Key deliverables include achieving customer fill rates and inventory levels in line with annual goals, minimizing non-essential freight spend, and delivering accurate reporting to support business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Detail oriented and inquisitive; seeks to understand the “why” and willing to dive deep to find solutions.
  • Strong teamwork and organizational skills; proven ability to engage with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Active listener, team-minded, and adaptable.
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with ERP systems such as JDE and Microsoft applications; high comfort level in Excel required.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills; knowledge of international logistics across all modes of transportation and third-party logistics providers.
  • Presentation skills and ability to work cross-functionally with Distribution, Supply Chain, Customer Service, NPD, Sales& Marketing, and Finance.
Responsibilities

Logistics Planning and Execution: Recommend and direct optimal transport modes, routes, and shipment frequencies to ensure prioritized product availability while minimizing carriage costs and penalties at destination. Coordinate import shipments with production and planning teams, providing countermeasures as needed to ensure on-time customer delivery.
Vendor and Partner Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, forwarders, brokers, and other logistics service providers. Negotiate rates, pricing agreements, and contracts with transportation providers to secure competitive market rates.
Reporting and Analytics: Maintain the Import Tracking Master as the primary supply chain communication tool. Develop and deliver accurate, timely reporting and analytics, including weekly inbound summary reports for key stakeholders. Maintain metrics, reports, and process documentation to support effective decision-making.
Program and Process Management: Oversee the operational aspects of our customer Direct Import program, including PO booking reporting, inventory receiving, and trade document preparation. Support monthly supply chain reporting. Participate in logistics RFQs to ensure competitive rates and drive continuous cost improvement.
Financial Review and Controls: Review and approve invoices to ensure accuracy and alignment with negotiated terms and budgets.
