POSITION OVERVIEW – LOGISTICS SPECIALIST - INTERNATIONAL

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or Diploma in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or Operations.
  • Previous Dispatch/Traffic experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years of previous logistics experience.
  • CIFFA certification, minimum level 1
  • CCS, CITT or PLOG certification preferred.
  • 2+ years in international shipments, in a controlled goods/ITAR environment strongly preferred.
  • 2-5 years’ experience ocean freight forwarding a must.
  • Experience in Full Container Load (FCL), Less than Container Load (LCL), international air shipments
  • Must be able to work flexible hours necessary to support customer demands, including weekend and statutory holiday assignments as required.

Responsibilities
  • Set up, rate, dispatch and monitor all movements in accordance with organizational policy and procedure, and to comply with relevant local, country, and international laws as well as customer requirements
  • Send standardized reports to customers or management, meeting daily requirements. Update customers on all relevant plan to actual variations or incidents.
  • Investigate, plan, and implement strategically effective and relevant transport methods, which meet the needs of the organization and its suppliers and customers.
  • Create/publish carrier & customer KPI’s, recommending changes based on data.
  • Prepare for and lead client and vendor facing meetings related to international projects. Maintain project plans with correct details updated at an agreed upon frequency.
  • Problem solve and manage deviations from planned project deliverables, communicating contingency plans with regular updates advising progress.
  • Set up, rate, book, dispatch, and complete Denied Party Screening on all freight requirements in accordance with organizational policy and procedure, and to comply with relevant local, country, and international laws as well as customer requirements.
  • Manage and maintain the plan for international shipments (planned dates/times for arrivals to airports, origin/destination ports, expected clearance based on incoterm responsibilities)
