The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Distribution Centre Supervisor to manage the day-to-day operations of our distribution centre. The successful candidate will ensure that inbound and outbound activities are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently while supporting the development of the DC team, improving processes, controlling costs, and delivering an excellent customer experience.
- Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the daily receipt, movement, storage, and dispatch of stock.
- Ensure inbound and outbound orders are processed accurately and on time.
- Manage inventory and investigate and report stock discrepancies and adjustments.
- Review purchase orders and sales orders to maintain visibility of incoming and outgoing stock.
- Liaise with carriers to support timely and reliable deliveries.
- Ensure ERP and warehouse systems contain accurate and up-to-date information.
- Supervise, train, and support DC employees while identifying training and development needs.
- Promote a safe, clean, organised, and efficient working environment.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and Company policies.
- Identify and implement process improvements, cost savings, and cost-avoidance opportunities.
- Review warehouse layout and product flow and recommend improvements.
- Support order fulfilment and customer communications, including during periods of team absence.
- Investigate and resolve customer and fulfilment issues promptly.
- Monitor and report on DC KPIs, including inventory accuracy, order fulfilment, carrier performance, safety, and cost savings.
- Support operational changes and perform other reasonable duties associated with the role.
- RequirementsA minimum of three years’ relevant experience in warehouse or distribution-centre operations.
- At least one year of experience supervising, coordinating, or leading a team.
- Experience using ERP, inventory, or warehouse management systems.
- Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of lean processes or continuous-improvement practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to train, support, and motivate team members.
- Strong attention to detail and a customer-focused approach.
- Commitment to health and safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
- A relevant qualification in logistics, supply chain, operations, or a related discipline is desirable but not essential.
