Job Summary The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing the transportation, storage, and distribution of goods to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. The role involves monitoring shipments, coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal departments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and monitor inbound and outbound shipments. Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transport providers to ensure smooth logistics operations. Track shipments and resolve transportation delays or delivery issues promptly. Prepare and verify shipping documents, including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and customs documentation. Coordinate customs clearance and ensure compliance with import/export regulations. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse teams to maintain stock accuracy. Optimize transportation routes and logistics costs while maintaining service quality. Ensure timely delivery of materials to support operational and project requirements. Maintain accurate logistics records and update ERP systems with shipment and inventory information. Analyze logistics performance and prepare reports on transportation costs, delivery timelines, and operational efficiency. Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, finance, and operations teams to ensure seamless supply chain activities. Investigate and resolve shipment discrepancies, damages, and claims. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company policies during logistics operations. Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes and reduce operational costs. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications in logistics or supply chain management are an advantage. Experience 3–5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or warehouse operations. Experience with import/export procedures and customs documentation is preferred. GCC/UAE logistics experience is an added advantage. Required Skills Strong knowledge of logistics and supply chain operations. Familiarity with shipping documentation and customs procedures. Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, FACTS ERP, or similar). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Good negotiation and vendor management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. High attention to detail and accuracy. Preferred Qualifications Certification such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD), or equivalent. Knowledge of international freight, Incoterms, and customs regulations. Experience in the construction, contracting, manufacturing, or FMCG industry. Valid UAE driving license is an advantage (if required for the role).
