Description Transportation & Dispatch Operations We are looking for a highly organized, fast-paced problem solver to join our team as a Logistics Specialist. This role is at the center of our daily operations and plays a critical part in making sure deliveries are planned, routed, staffed, and executed successfully each day. If you enjoy coordinating moving parts, solving logistical challenges, communicating with drivers and teams, and working in an environment where no two days are the same, this position may be a strong fit. This is not a passive desk job. The right candidate will thrive under pressure, think ahead, adapt quickly, and take ownership of getting the job done. Schedule Primarily Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Extended hours are expected during the spring season and peak operational periods Preferred Background Experience in any of the following is a plus: Logistics Dispatching Transportation planning Fleet coordination Supply chain operations Construction, agricultural, or delivery scheduling environments ABOUT JOHNSON NURSERY Johnson Nursery is a family-owned wholesale and retail plant nursery in Willard, NC, serving the horticultural industry for over 40 years. We grow and ship 2,000+ plant varieties — annuals, perennials, shrubs, tropicals, grasses, and trees — to garden centers, nurseries, landscapers, and botanical gardens across the eastern United States. We also operate a local garden center and The Gardens of Southeastern North Carolina, a community destination for events, workshops, and venue rentals. Requirements What You’ll Do Receive and organize incoming sales orders Build daily truck schedules and load plans Route deliveries for maximum efficiency Coordinate both company drivers and third-party/contract drivers Solve scheduling and transportation issues in real time Communicate with sales staff, loading teams, and drivers throughout the day Ensure loads are delivered on time and operations run smoothly Help improve routing efficiency and transportation processes What We’re Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Highly organized and detail-oriented Comfortable making decisions in a fast-moving environment Strong in communication and coordination Able to multitask and prioritize effectively Resourceful and calm under pressure Dependable and willing to step up during busy seasons Experience in logistics, dispatching, trucking, transportation coordination, or operations is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
