Description The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the movement of materials, finished products, and shipments throughout the Global supply chain. This role ensures timely, cost-effective, and compliant transportation of goods while maintaining strong relationships with carriers, suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders. The Logistics Specialist supports freight optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain performance. Should have experience in managing shipments from Asia and Europe into the US. Key Responsibilities Transportation & Shipment Management Develop and execute transportation market intelligence initiatives to identify high-performing logistics partners, negotiate strategic agreements, and leverage supplier differentiators to enhance supply chain competitiveness Create and deploy processes, controls, and systems that support multi-location operations and ensure reliable, efficient movement of products across the organization Provide oversight of HTS classification, customs compliance, and border clearance processes to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective international supply chain operations. Coordinate inbound (parts & chassis) and outbound (completed Chassis & trucks) shipments to meet delivery schedules. Arrange transportation with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers. Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve transportation issues. Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and company policies. Track and analyze freight costs and transportation performance. Supply Chain Coordination Collaborate with purchasing, production, warehousing, and customer service teams. Expedite critical shipments to prevent production disruptions. Maintain effective communication with suppliers, carriers, and customers regarding shipment status. Documentation & Compliance Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, bills of lading, customs paperwork, and carrier invoices. Ensure compliance with domestic and international transportation regulations. Maintain accurate logistics records and shipment tracking information. Support customs clearance activities when applicable. Data Analysis & Reporting Track key logistics metrics, including on-time delivery, freight costs, inventory turns, and carrier performance. Generate reports and analyze logistics data to identify improvement opportunities. Recommend cost-saving initiatives and process improvements. Support continuous improvement projects within the supply chain organization. Problem Resolution Investigate shipment delays, damages, shortages, and transportation claims. Coordinate corrective actions with carriers and suppliers. Minimize disruptions through proactive risk management and contingency planning. Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (preferred). 3–5 years of logistics, transportation, or supply chain experience. Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and organizational abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills Experience with QAD or other ERP systems. Understanding of domestic and international shipping regulations, HTS codes, US tariff norms Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis).
