Every day we work together to reach children caught in humanitarian crises worldwide and need mission-driven, energetic, passionate problem solvers to join our team.   JOB SUMMARY:  The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for managing all domestic and international inbound and outbound shipments.  They will supervise international export activities, coordinate with freight forwarders and customers, implement supply chain process improvements, process local/international shipping quote requests, and manage 3rd party warehouse activities and relationships. The Logistics Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring Edesia can provide the best and most cost-effective delivery options, along with excellent customer service. The role reports to the Director of Global Supply Chain and manages Edesia's team of 3rd party logistics contractors.   RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:  * Coordinate the operational activities for all international export shipments through our 3rd party warehouses in Rhode Island, New Jersey, and Ghana.   * Proactively manage all aspects of international export shipments in collaboration with logistics contractors, including management of documentation and order processing through Edesia's SAP system.  * Provide excellent customer service to all customers and partners, ensuring proactive measures are taken to provide updates and order status regularly.  * Oversee the coordination of inbound shipments of raw materials and outbound finished goods transfers in collaboration with the Warehouse team based on the weekly production schedule.  * Serve as the primary point of contact for all logistics and export documentation concerns, monitoring progress to ensure that Edesia follows US customs/export and foreign trade laws & federal regulations.   * Conduct and review a regular RFQ process for domestic and international transportation providers to ensure Edesia receives the best rates and services.   * Provide transportation quotes and timelines for shipments in collaboration with the Supply Planning and Sales teams.   * Process freight claims, investigations, and customer complaints related to shipments.  * Manage the utilization and optimization of Edesia’s tractor-trailer fleet through our 3rd party logistics partners, ensuring the fleet stays up to date on maintenance and compliant with all federal, state, and local licenses, insurance, and certification requirements.  * Coordinate pre-shipping inspections with our customers and their nominated inspection agencies.   * Seek out new partnerships and opportunities with 3PL logistics providers, ocean carriers, and freight forwarders to ensure Edesia is continually getting the best rates and services possible for transportation and warehousing.   * Review and code-related service provider invoices promptly.  * Develop and update weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual departmental reporting on departmental KPIs to track efficiency, cost savings, and evaluate on-time shipments.   * Analyze shipping schedules and provide feedback to the Supply Planning team on 3PL space utilization to assist in storage planning and ensure space commitments are optimized ideally.   * Host outstanding order status meetings, and regularly attend daily operations meetings, operations meetings, and change control meetings to provide input from the logistics dept. as needed.   * Continually update and improve logistics processes and standard operating procedures.  Collaborate with IT to work on WMS and ERP continuous improvement projects to further optimize shipping processes, reporting accuracy & and automation.   * Ensure FSMA compliance for all inbound and outbound carriers.  * Collaborate on special projects, including inventory reconciliation, as assigned by management.   QUALIFICATIONS:  * 4-year degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.  * Excellent attention to detail  * Ability to critically think through multiple-step process and follow up on multiple details  * Highly organized and capable of handling multiple priorities without losing details   * Excellent communication, verbal and written skills   * Strong Excel skills - freight software knowledge preferable  * Self-motivated and independent, eager to take ownership of position   * Ability to work under time pressures   * Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment   * Solid knowledge of MRP/ERP/EDI systems and the ability to recommend/lead implementation of new ones   * Prior experience in customer relations or customer service preferred  * Willing to take on departmental tasks as needed   WORKING CONDITIONS:  * General office environment - frequently works in internal and external warehouse areas which have seasonal fluctuations in temperature.   The requirements described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
