Description

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of Distribution experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated strong experience in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of the Carrier organization.
  • Strong teamwork, collaboration and relationship management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP or other ERP system preferred.
  • Strong sense of time organization and urgency, self-initiative, and sense of ownership.
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain focus on multiple priorities.
  • Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interact with multiple levels and functions within the organization.
  • Ability to plan and organize daily tasks and adjust throughout the day to priorities/emergencies and to meet deadlines required.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

This position is for a Logistics Technician who is under direct supervision. Prepares necessary shipping documentation. Responds to basic to fairly complex customer or shipper questions and complaints regarding storage and distribution services. Uses standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works under direct supervision to provide assistance with managing inventory and movement of materials.
  • Prepares necessary shipping documentation.
  • Checks arriving materials to ensure they match purchase orders.
  • Handles and maintains flow of materials and products in manufacturing areas according to established guidelines.
  • Maintains and updates production and delivery schedules.
  • Responds to basic to fairly complex customer or shipper questions and complaints regarding storage and distribution services.
  • Tracks and traces goods while they are on route to their destinations.
  • Collects and compiles data from contracts, purchase orders, requisitions and other documents to assess supply needs.
