Description Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara is seeking a program facilitator for our in-school programs at elementary and secondary schools across Lompoc Unified School District. Girls Inc. inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. We offer girls a safe, fun, all-girl/pro-girl environment where they gain and practice skills that equip and empower them to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers and grow up healthy, educated, and independent. Through evidence-based programs, led by trained mentoring professionals, Girls Inc. girls learn to be confident and embrace positive decision-making to take charge of their health and well-being, and achieve academic, personal, and career goals. Requirements Facilitator Essential Job Functions Include: Ability to adapt to various school environments while effectively balancing the diverse needs of students, staff, and curriculum. Facilitator will work with 50-80 youth a week, up to 14 youth in a group at a time Creating, preparing for, and facilitating daily hands-on and intentional activities within our Core Essential Services (Healthy Living, Academic Enrichment and Support, and Life Skills) - Content areas can include: art, STEM, literacy, movement, financial literacy, social emotional learning, girls and women in history, etc. Ensuring girls safety, both physically and emotionally, though active supervision while they participate in structured program activities Being a mentor and leader setting a positive example and role model for the girls Abide and adhere to the safety requirements and procedures of our operations Keeping accurate records of attendance Evaluating programs for effectiveness of intended outcomes Participating in staff trainings, meetings, and events Maintaining organization and cleanliness of programming areas, resources, and supplies Creating a pro-girl environment Interacting with families in a positive and welcoming way *Job Functions above are only a summary of the typical functions of the job, not an exhaustive or comprehensive list of all possible responsibilities, tasks, and duties. Minimum Requirements: 1 full year of work experience working with youth in a structured educational setting 12 college level units in any of the following courses: early childhood education, sociology, psychology, art, music, dance, drama, recreation. Associate Degree (Preferred) In addition to: Valid Driver’s License is required Bilingual – English and Spanish Ability to pass criminal background check and clean criminal record Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening Vaccinations as required by State Law for licensed childcare facilities (TB, Pertussis and Measles Immunizations, Flu vaccine recommended-but optional). Strong communication skills and ability and desire to work as a team member of a diverse and dynamic team Compensation: Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and professional development opportunities. Work Locations & Schedule: Work locations vary throughout the Lompoc Unified School District, one school site per day. Schedule also includes 2-4 required visits monthly to our main location at 4973 Hollister Avenue, Santa Barbara CA 93111 Monday-Friday, Part Time or Full Time Mileage Reimbursement for any multi-site visits in one day during regular shift.
