Description The substitute teacher will be responsible for class coverage during a teacher’s absence, fulfilling the classroom and professional responsibilities required to teach the course. The long term substitute teacher will have a passion for helping students foster a Biblical worldview and reach standards of Christian excellence in the areas of High School Science. Requirements Position: Long Term Substitute Science Teacher Reports to: Director of Instruction Length of Contract: Starting August 2026 Preferred Qualifications Associates Degree or higher Demonstrate role-specific knowledge and expertise Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Proficient in technology aligned with expectations Position Expectations Learning Process Pedagogy: Demonstrates mastery of content knowledge immersed in Biblical truths Preparation: Adept in planning to meet goals through learning experiences that appeal to learner needs Delivery: Engages students through a variety of learning strategies Assessments: Uses a variety of assessments that accurately measures student progress Reflection: Utilizes summative and formative data to both evaluate student mastery level and instruction Learning Environment Culture: Cultivates a Christ-centered, respectful learning environment where students are encouraged and empowered to feel confident in their learning as they strive towards excellence Management: establishes consistency in holding students accountable to policies and expectations through utilizing an array of classroom management strategies, within a positive learning environment Stewardship: attentive to classroom cleanliness, design, and management of resources, ultimately fostering an environment conducive to learning Professional Responsibilities Personal: exemplifies Christlike character in and outside the classroom, striving for excellence in conduct, ethics, and growth Administrative: punctually attends and contributes to meetings, maintains accurate records, including lessons and grades, meets deadlines for reports, and adheres to policies and duties outlined by administration with fidelity Students & Parents: Cultivates positive relationships with students and partnerships with parents to align with school mission and to encourage students to strive for excellence in all areas Staff & Leadership: collaborates with staff and leadership, maintaining positive relationships built on transparency, trust, and integrity, in order to contribute to the success of students, department, and school
Responsibilities
