We’re committed to reviving this world-class operation, with development coal production targeted for early 2024 and longwall coal production expected in 2026.   About You: We are currently seeking an experienced and safety focused Longwall Superintendent to join the Centurion underground team and contribute to building a Longwall team. Reporting directly to the Underground Mine Manager, you will lead the longwall production crews and ensure the safe and efficient execution of all longwall-related activities. This critical leadership role requires a strong operational mindset, excellent people management skills, and a focus on delivering production outcomes in line with site targets. Working in a dynamic underground environment, you will provide day to day supervision of longwall operations, coordinate with technical services and maintenance teams, and ensure compliance with statutory and site-specific safety requirements.   Duties will include: Oversee daily longwall operations, ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently Provide clear direction and leadership to crews working on the longwall face Collaborate closely with Maintenance, Tech Services, and other departments to deliver seamless production outcomes Conduct pre shift briefings, inspections, and ensure effective hazard identification and risk control Drive a culture of continuous improvement, safety leadership and team accountability Monitor equipment performance, longwall conditions and productivity trends Support and mentor crew members, promoting skill development and high performance Respond to unplanned events or breakdowns with prompt decision-making and escalation when required   About You: Minimum 5+ years’ experience in longwall coal mining operations, with proven leadership in a similar role Statutory Supervisor qualifications (e.g., S123, G2 or equivalent) – highly desirable Previous experience working in a NSW or QLD underground coal mine Exceptional understanding of longwall equipment, processes and underground safety standards Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams High attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and behavioural safety leadership   The lifestyle: This role is offered on a 9-day fortnight (Mon–Fri / Mon–Thurs), giving you a rostered day off every second week. DIDO is available for candidates living locally, or FIFO from Brisbane.
